Research and experimentation, energy and dynamism: these are the key features of Incipit, a Milan-based company whose main characteristic is the collaboration with young, talented designers. Created by Roberto Hoz and Marta Bernstein during the Spring of 2013, Incipit started out as a training workshop for young designers. Today, it is an actual company: by means of a gradual creative and productive process, using natural and simple materials, Incipit aims to create a wide range of products inspired by the Italian tradition and Mediterranean atmospheres. Our collection, including objects, lighting and accessories for the home and contract projects, features minimal and harmonious lines, which perfectly suit each kind of space, whether it’s modern or classic. Over the last years, our products range became increasingly rich: along with items such as mirrors, trays, vases, bottles and candle-holders, we also manufacture an entire lighting line. Incipit takes natural materials (metals, glasses, marbles, stones, wood, terra cotta, ceramic) and processes them by using traditional Italian techniques. It carries out a more complex idea of the “Made in Italy” concept: in other words, an actual “Italian” approach to design. Incipit’s quality standards are industrial, yet comply with the small-scale spirit the company takes its inspiration from. Home and beyond: Incipit’s products are also designed for contract projects: restoration, hotels and retail spaces. Distribution is conducted by means of traditional sales channels, such as showrooms, temporary shops and e-commerce platforms. Incipit’s items are distributed in Italy and in the major European countries, as well as in the USA, Asia and Middle East. There are many high-range retail outlets, design shops and concept stores.
