AMA, LUND and ALBA handles will be showed in an unusually bigger size on the installation hosted by the Studio of "Andrea Maffei Architects", the designer of the brand new AMA handle which will be presented at the Fuorisalone.

Andrea Maffei Architects

Andrea Maffei was graduated in architecture in Florence in 1994 with honors and, after some initial experience with the office of Massimo Carmassi in Pisa, in 1997 he moved to Tokyo to work in the atelier of Arata Isozaki. Initially he was engaged in the team of the Ceramics Museum in Gifu (Japan) and then as project leader in the competition the new exit of the Uffizi museum, won in March 1999. From 1999 to 2001 he was project leader of the house Wabrah Sheik Al-Thani in Doha, Qatar, and then the expansion project of the museum of history of Qatar in Doha, as well as many competitions in various parts of the world. This allowed him to travel around the world and come into contact with the wider Asian and Middle Eastern cultures. Leader of Italian projects, as project leader directed the design of Palahockey of Turin, a large renovation project for the 2006 Winter Olympics, now so called PalaAlpitour, which has been designed with the aim of an extensive use post- Olympic and now guests concerts, conferences and other events. He also directed the project of the Olympic pool and the park of Piazza d’Armi in Torino, Italy (2002-2006) and he did the artistic supervision of these three construction sites in Turin. He founded Andrea Maffei Architects in 2005 developing various projects in Italy and abroad. He won several Italian competitions including Bologna new central station (2008) and Bergamo new Municipality headquarter (2009), participates in the great competition for the extension of the city of Monte Carlo on the sea (2007-2008), to extend the city by the sea in the form of a peninsula with new residences, hotels, museums and office. He signs the draft of the new exit of the Uffizi museum in Florence (2007), the new Library of Maranello (2009) opened in 2011, the buildings Imprima Buildings in Bergamo with office function. He just completed, as a designer and signer of the project CITYLIFE in Milan (with A. Isozaki), for the construction of a large office complex and residential area in the old Fair. The project includes a 207m high skyscraper, the central square of the complex with underground station, and several residential buildings. He has just finished as a designer and signatory Allianz skyscraper in Milan (with A. Isozaki), for the construction of a 50 storey tower, 242m high. He is engaged in the project of a new airport in Tabriz (Iran). In addition to the professional activities, he writes on various architectural magazines and since 1997 is correspondent for the architecture magazine “CASABELLA”, director Prof. Francesco Dal Co, in which he publishes various projects and texts on contemporary Japanese architecture. He curated a special issue on Japan architecture in march 2000. He curates the monograph “Toyo Ito’s works, the texts, the writings” published by Electa, in 2001. From 2000 to 2002 takes academic activity as a visiting professor of architectural design at Waseda University in Tokyo, in the course of prof. Osamu Ishiyama, as well as various conferences and seminars on architecture.

Claesson Koivisto Rune

Claesson Koivisto Rune is a Swedish architectural partnership, founded in Stockholm, in 1995, by Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune. It started as an architectural firm, but has since become an internationally-acclaimed, multi-disciplinary office with an equal emphasis on both architecture and design. As the first Swedish office to have exhibited in the international section at the Venice Architecture Biennale, in 2004, they are also responsible for award-wining projects such as the Tind Prefab house collection for Fiskarhedenvillan, Widlund House private villa on Öland, Örsta Gallery building in Kumla, Sfera Building culture house in Kyoto and Nobis Hotel in Stockholm. They design for such international companies as Arflex, Asplund, Blueair, Boffi, Capdell, Cappellini, Casamania, David design, Discipline, Dune NY, Fontana Arte, Kasthall, Living Divani, Offecct, Paola Lenti, Petite Friture, Swedese, Tacchini, Wästberg, among others. For their work they have received the German Design Award (Gold and Silver) 2011 by the Federal Republic of Germany, Designer of the Year 2011 and Furniture of the Year 2012 by Elle Deco (Sweden), both Designer of the Year and Best Seating 2014 by Elle Décor Italia, and the Red Dot Design Award – Best of the Best 2014, making them the first office to hold a Red Dot in five different product categories.

Colombo Design S.p.A.

Luca Colombo

He attends the courses of the Architecture Faculty at the Politecnico University of Milan. He has collaborated with the office of the architect Carlo Bartoli. In 1996, he became the coordinator of the Colombo Design designer team, with whom he develops projects – particularly the design of handles for doors and windows – assesses their feasibility and marketability. His creations are the handles Taipan (1997), Talita (1999), Milla (2000), Olly (2007), Trama (2015) e Alba (2016), all positively acquainted from the general and expertise public, confirming Luca Colombo as a key Designers of the Colombo Design products. Luca Colombo is the designer also of the successful series Look (2004), Lulù (2008), BasiqQ (2013) and Forever (2014), designed with his usual determination and precision essential characteristics for architectural plan design.
